An alumina membrane was studied by water adsorption in conjunction with small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). The SANS data were fitted according to a polydisperse homogeneous permeable sphere model. Pore size distributions and radial distribution functions were calculated for pores as small as 19A too. The lower limit of the pore size distribution is in agreement with the predictions of Kelvin equation. Copyright (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
